Note: Uses OEM Actuators The 200 Cell Sport Cat Replacements for the OPF/GPF do NOT cause CEL 15PS and 18Nm Torque Dyno Gains The iconic CAPRISTO Valved Exhaust System offers the best of both worlds through its capability to produce an aggressive exhaust note under acceleration, and a more subdued sound for city driving. This feature is possible using vacuum-actuated valve flaps that open and close depending on driving conditions and input from the driver. At lower engine speeds and during cruise operation the valves are closed and produce a deeper exhaust note. At wide-open throttle, the valves open releasing the full symphony of the engine. The new Capristo exhaust valves on the X3M are electronically controlled and integrate the OEM Actuators to maintain factory valve operation via the Sport Control. This allows precise control of the exhaust based on the drivers personal tastes and tolerance without any additional electronics/modules/remotes. CAPRISTO Exhaust systems are engineered and manufactured utilizing advanced 3D Laser-Scanning, CAD Design, Digital prototyping, and CNC-bending/milling at our factory in Germany. Each system is made of high-grade T309 (1.4828) Stainless Steel and hand polished to a mirror finish. After extensive research, this specific alloy was chosen for its sonic resonance properties, low weight, and durability which are close to the properties of Inconel (used in F1). HKS has incorporated this new race inspired offset muffler and piping design into many street applications, which offers a greater flow and higher-PRM power gains due to the less restrictive design. This is achieved by eliminating unnecessary bends for the straightest exhaust path. For turbocharged applications, the large and smooth exhaust flow allows greater exhaust velocity for better mid-range boost response and high-RPM power. Its simple straight thru design creates an increase of exhaust gas velocity in order to improve efficiency. The middle silencer (resonator) on the main pipe is designed to maintain torque in the low to mid speed range. All mufflers are made with SUS304 stainless steel, 1mm is used for main pipe and the ultra 0.8mm is used for main silencer. This combination creates a super light weight muffler.
